Those who own Galaxy devices may recall Samsung’s pledge to update the S22 range to Android 13 and One UI 5 in October. The Korean juggernaut appears to be keeping its word because there are already reports of S22 Ultra devices in Italy getting the coveted OTA.
The file in question is 2854.03 MB in size and contains the most recent October 2022 security fixes. It has a firmware version of S908BXXU2BVJA. But as you can guess, the changelog for this particular version is very lengthy, so that’s simply the proverbial cherry on top. More information is available in the screenshots or at the source link. Key characteristics include:
Fresh icons
New notice design and call pop-up
New management for customising devices (lock screen, wallpapers, new layout for widgets)
Optimization of output (improved multitasking, a new possibility of extracting and scanning a text, optimised Samsung Dex and Samsung Notes, Connected Devices)
Enhanced regular mode
Updated sleep mode
Optimizing security and privacy
The stable One UI 5 and Android 13 upgrade for the S22 family of handsets is anticipated to begin seeding in Europe on Monday, October 24. This is even better news. That is only a few hours away and would fulfil Samsung’s first commitment. Speaking of which, industry sources assert that Samsung will, by the end of 2022, also release One UI 5.0 for the Z Fold4, Z Flip4, and Galaxy S21 family. The Galaxy Z Fold4, Galaxy Z Flip4, Galaxy Z Fold3, and Galaxy Z Flip3 are also available. Possibly the Galaxy A53 as well.
